Golf - The Home Of

For golfers, this is where the story began, 600 years ago. The Old Course is the most iconic course in the world and for many, the best. To play the Old Course is a lifetime ambition for visitors from around the world. The best however usually does not come cheap and the green fee for a round on the Old Course in mid season is £160 and advance bookings may be full months ahead. Entering the ballot 48 hours in advance is the best option for many.

But it's not just the Old Course. St Andrews Links is the largest golf complex in Europe with in total seven courses with a range of green fees right down to about £15 for the 9 hole Balgove course, aimed at beginners and families. This is truly a destination and our cottage in Strathkinness is ideal for groups of golfing friends. Follow the highlighted link for all the information.

However if you can look beyond St Andrews itself, Fife boasts 50 golf courses giving a claimed total of 268,971 yards of fairway. The photo below is a scene from the Dunhill Links tournament at the fabulous Kingsbarns Links, just outside St Andrews, in 2014
